Transformation

September's theme is "transformation".
A couple of days ago I turned 50. I thought it would be this magical day for me, no such luck. It just reminded me of all the baggage I carry with me.

I am tired of the baggage, it zaps my energy, my creativity and my soul. So I am dumping that baggage. As a friend said, transformation can be messy.

To go along with the theme is my page. A woman transforming into a winged beauty. I am using Lapis Lazuli for the spots on the wings. Lapis is said to enable one to obtain relief from that which has been pressed into the shallow recesses of the mind, providing objectivity, clarity and mental endurance during the release of emotional bondage. Plus it will assist in the attunement of the creative source. stimulating the expansion and the realization of consciousness toward the awakening of the perfection of the self. Boy do I need that!

I took this piece up to the shores of Gitchagoomee yesterday and blessed it in the waters of that clear blue oasis. I only dipped one side in, (the water is about 40 degrees) you can see it is bumpy. Well who said transformation was going to be smooth.

Bless you all, thank you for your beautiful comments on past posts.

What a beautiful start to your September page! As one who is also turning 50 very shortly, I am experiencing a similar transformation. I'm looking forward to see how your page progresses. -Karen

Fabulous. A great symbol for transformation. Me? I got a tattoo of the tarot card "strength". 50 deserves a symbol and this is a great one!

I love your page an the symbolism...transformation not being smooth but bumpy. I didn't know this about Lapis. Thank you for sharing. I love the colors in your face it really reflects the colors in the Lapis.

As one who turned fifty so long ago (I am 67 now), I want you to know that the best, fun, most wonderful years of your life are beginning NOW!

What a beautiful and soul-filled page. I'm 51, now, and I can tell you that "transformation" is making this into the best decade of my life. You never have to stop "becoming". Gorgeous work.
