Wow, long time between posts.

It has been almost 3 months since my last post. Sounds like a confession huh!

Fall is always a busy time for me. I have a booth at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival which lasts 7 weeks, I do health care in the evening, and I started a new part time job in September. It felt like every moment of my days were spoken for. And that did not include the beadwork that I am working on.

For beadwork, I am working on a piece for the Bead Expo competition The Beaded Book, I have a crown started for a competition in our local historical gallery, I
am trying to finish the edging and cover of my last Bead Journal Project, and today I bought the last of the fabric for this years project.

The theme of this year's project is The Pursuit of Peace. I have a magical island that I go to that fills me with that peace, and I want to share it with all of you.

For September I have printed two of my photos of the island onto fabric, I stamped the inner photo with a section of a wrought iron gate, and I am laying a piece of Illusion tulle over the top. This piece is full of symbology, if only for me. I am going to bead the gate, the ferns, some of the trees. Then I will add some wispy yarn around the edge. Here is what it looks like now, not much done but I at least started.

Wow this looks like it will be amazing when its done! I think the idea of just doing touches of beadwork here and there will be really nice. I love your other piece too (the black background piece) I know about it being tedious, because I alos did a black background for this month and it got really old quick! Great work, cant wait to see more!

To have your own magical island of or for peace, how wonderful. I like that you're doing a totally different technique than last year. Can't wait to see it progress.

This already feels peaceful, I'm looking forward to seeing what it will look like with beads. I like the layering effects.

This sounds like a great journal page. You are recording things that mean something special to you. Can't wait to see what the beads add to it.

Nice to see you back blogging again, Brenda. We missed you. Can anyone come to your island? It looks like it would be very welcoming.
